Foundation Appreciation 001: Nars All Day Luminous Foundation
As you've probably gathered, we quite like Foundation. How could we not? It's the basis of our daily look. Specifically formulated to make our faces look more even, smoother and generally better, nothing has the power to transform complexions so outstandingly.
Sure there are great illuminators, primers, illuminating primers and serums, but a great foundation is still a makeup arsenal essential.
Foundation Appreciation will review our favourite Foundations, BBs and Tints, that cater to all skintones.
First up is a long time favourite: Nars, All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation.
Housed in an elegant frosted glass bottle with pump, Nars' All Day Luminous replaced the super popular Sheer Matte, to much outrage. We totally understand why though, no-one really wants to look matte anymore and if we do we have fixing sprays and primers for that. What All Day Luminous lacks in mattifying powers, it makes up for as a hyper-real skin perfecter.
What is says it does:
"Full, natural-looking coverage with unexpectedly weightless, 16-hour wear. Highly pigmented and perfectly balanced, this breakthrough formula builds and blends effortlessly with just one drop."
Does it do it?
In short, yes.
Nars' Sheer Matte update is seriously good. Two drops are more than enough and it really does last all day. 16 hours is a bit of a push, but it definitely sees you through a 12 hour day or night.
This is the foundation we reach for if we've got day-to-night plans, or just want to look flawless for as long as possible.
