The Unlikely Return of Lipgloss

The noughties revival has been gently gaining pace since Kylie Jenner decided she was bringing back the Von Dutch cap. It was a little soon, but her intentions were spot on. We've since seen the return of plastic chokers, asymmetric hems and can you believe it, cowl necks. Kendall Jenner sealed the deal on her 21st birthday, by paying homage to 00s poster child Paris Hilton; wearing the same sparkly silver chainmail and choker combo that Hilton wore to her own 21st.
The 00s trend that we really didn't see making a comeback though is lipgloss, but as things got so matte in the liquid lipstick hype, it was only a matter of time before we needed something glossy.
2016 beauty being what it is, means that we've progressed quite some way since juicy tubes. Gone are the days of sticky lips and overly fruity lacquers.
The Inspiration:

This new crop of glosses are diamond infused, glitter flecked, rich in pigment and slippery as you like. There’s something for everyone and every occasion. You can channel Dior's deep berry gloss for AW16- a look I'm absolutely loving as a glossy brown, dreamt up with M.A.C Chestnut lip liner, M.A.C Velvet Teen and topped up with Kevyn Aucoin's Bloodroses.
Or you can channel the new crop of it girls, paying tribute to the it girls that came before them, and go for a high impact clear gloss; The perfect antidote for a seriously shiny mini. For this Elizabeth Arden's beautiful colour lipgloss in Diamond, is ideal. The dazzling clear gloss, housed in a sleek clear gold topped tube with mirror, is perfect for reapplying on the dance floor or in the back of a black cab. Hydrating, smooth and the perfect combination of colour sparkle luminosity, it's surprisingly refreshing and lasts for hours.
