Catwalk Inspired Halloween Beauty

The catwalk is always one of the first places we turn to for inspiration, and Halloween is no different. For the one time of the year when there are absolutely no rules or beauty no-no’s, we've selected some of our favourite fashion week looks, for a fresh take on Halloween.
'Diamond Punk Princess' - Givenchy AW15
The diamond encrusted beauty looks at Givenchy AW15 had everyone in fits of excitement and face bling officially became a thing. Makeup artist Pat McGrath gave the look a Victoriana meets Girl Gang feel with symmetrical adornments of pearls and diamante, dotted on cheeks, eyes and chin; complete with chandelier nose and earrings.
Get the Haute Couture Punk Rock Princess look this Halloween, with a selection of diamantes from your local craft supply store. Stick them onto skin in a mirroring pattern with a dab of eyelash glue. and finish with some seriously bling earrings and a black leather jacket.
'Black Swan' - Alexander McQueen AW14
McQueen’s wild beauty themed runway look for AW14 is the perfect Halloween inspiration for a fallen angel or dark bird of paradise costume.
Models wore exaggerated eyebrows and black feather lashes, with silver eye shadow blended onto lids – a stunning and super easy take on a wild animal party look.
'Gothic Glam Barbie' - Marc Jacobs AW16
The beauty look at Marc Jacobs AW16 was dark, gritty and gothic. Models wore messy black eye shadow for a gaunt, slept-in look. This was matched with glossy black lips and sleek finger waves.
To recreate the look at home, smudge out black eye shadow beneath the eyes – the messier the better! Fill in your lips with either a black lipstick or a gel or liquid black liner, and slick the roots of your hair down with a strong hair gel, leaving your ends dry and fluffed out. Finish the look with all black attire and chunky boots for instant Goth Glam Barbie.
'1920’s Flapper girl' - Christian Dior AW09
The 1920's Flapper girl is a great alternative Halloween costume that’s super easy to create. Turn your flapper girl into flapper goddess by taking cues from Dior’s stunning AW09 runway look. Models wore a gorgeous smoky lilac eye, with silver glitter dabbed into the inner corners.
Eyes were lined with black kohl and voluminous fake lashes were added to both the top and lower lash line. Cheeks were dusted with a rosy pink and thin black brows were drawn on top of concealer-blotted eyebrows. The sculptural bob and fringe is also super easy to achieve with a ton of bobby pins and some hair spray. Finish off with a glossy burgundy lipstick just on the top lip and voila!
'70’s Disco Chic' – Ashish AW16
This is probably the easiest and most fun look to slap on last minute. Ashish’s rainbow disco Crayola collection from AW16 is the perfect inspiration for a 70’s disco diva look. All you need is a colourful Afro wig and a matching lipstick. Wear sparkles head-to-toe and you’re good to go. If you want to up the ante slightly, apply craft stars around your eyes and the tops of your temples.
