With sun on the horizon and long days ahead, it’s becoming much easier to work up a sweat inside and outside of the gym.
Fabulous makeup is less of a priority when you’re working out, but who says you can’t enjoy both? While it’s advisable to let your skin breathe during sporty endeavours, there are a few items out there that will work with you, and keep you looking flawless.
Slapp’s got your back. For the girls who don’t want to part with their products, here’s a list of makeup to get you through the most intense obstacle course.
1. L.A. Girl: Pro Prep HD Primer (£4.50, Slappshop)
This is small and mighty with a lightweight formula that won’t cake or slide. It can be applied first thing in the morning to secure your makeup on an active day. Slapp this on and power up the lifespan of any foundation, concealer or powder. Think of this little gem as the glue that holds it all together; prepared to last as long as you do,
- NARS: Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser (£30, ASOS)
Whilst exercising it’s very important to avoid clogging your pores with oil, but if you’re someone who loves their coverage (even on the treadmill,) then we recommend a tint. The moisturising formula offers light, flattering colour correction and is totally oil free, so it’s far kinder to your sweaty skin than a normal foundation. Containing SPF 30, this is product will cover you when you’re on the run outdoors too.
- Eyeko: Sport Waterproof Mascara (£19, Eyeko)
Both totally vegan and cruelty free, this is a product made specifically for use during sports. It’s Allure’s Best of Beauty Award Winner, and this mascara is loved for not smudging, or running, in the toughest conditions. It contains a usually troublesome fibre-enhanced formula for additional lash volume, but even with that, this trophy-winner still doesn’t flake! If you’re training to swim the English Channel, climb Everest, or maybe just do a bit of backyard yoga, this is your best bet.
- Urban Decay: Eyeshadow Primer Potion (£17, House of Fraser)
If your heart is set on a full eyeshadow look to exercise in, you’re going to need a primer. A good base is crucial under any eye makeup if you're hoping for it to survive a sports session. This primer has definitely earned its popularity, and it’s also cruelty and paraben free. The formula is made with polymer technology, so while you work out there’s no chance of your makeup sliding and getting in your eyes… or on your cheeks.
- Too Faced: Bulletproof Brows (£27, Too Faced)
This small pot of pigment is truly powerful. Best applied quickly, and with a mix of the provided angled and spoolie brushes, this product has the consistency of a dry wax and 60 seconds after applying, it will lock down for the entire day. You read that right. Anything an exercise class or a dip in the pool can throw at you, this product can take. If your normal pencils or powders aren’t keeping up with you, be prepared for this gel to totally change your brow game.
