Suzie Mac is a full time DJ/Presenter and Influencer. She’s worked for BBC Scotland, Bauer Media and Express Newspapers as a DJ, presenter, filmmaker and journalist. She is best known for co-hosting Northsound 1's Breakfast Show, Micky In The Morning.
We love her boundless energy, authenticity and her unmitigated advocacy of body positivity.
We chatted with Suzie about NikkieTutorials, Scottish air and not giving a f*** what people think!

What do you do?
I am a full time DJ/Presenter and Influencer
What’s your day to day like?
Day to day life can range from filming and editing videos on Adobe Premiere, to brainstorming social content, attending a press launch, or DJing at a festival or nightclub.
What has been your greatest achievement in your career so far?
I think being the first female DJ on the all-female Queen Tuts stage at TRNSMT festival has been my greatest achievement to date. TRNSMT festival is extra special to me as a Scot - it's the biggest festival in the country and the one I grew up dreaming of performing at. To be on the same line up as Stormzy, AJ Tracey, Lewis Capaldi, Gerry Cinnamon and more is absolutely amazing to me!
What advice would you give to other girls and guys looking to get into creative industries?
STOP CARING WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK OF YOU! Do what you want to do. Follow your dreams and always remember - people will talk about you no matter what - good and bad. Give them something to talk about!
What are your experiences of diversity in the industry?
It's hard as a female to make it in the music/entertainment industry. It's an extremely male dominated environment but it doesn't deter me. It just makes me want to work even harder and prove people wrong.
What inspires you?
I like seeing people work hard and achieving their dreams. I love seeing an idea come into fruition.
Who is your beauty muse?
Definitely, Nikkietutorials. Like her, I have a very fair complexion, so I like to try and mirror what she does with makeup. I also love that she is body positive.
How do you stay healthy, body and mind?
Make sure I take time out when I need it. I go for walks with my dog, leave my phone behind and breathe in the fresh Scottish air!
Beauty is....
within. You can look like a 10 on the outside but have an ugly personality shining through on the inside. It doesn't matter what you look like, it's all about radiating confidence and positivity from within.
Would you share an early beauty memory or a biggest beauty mistake with us?
Fake tan and I just don't work!!!! I look at pictures of my early 20's and I really do look like an Oompa Loompa. I am so glad I decided to embrace my natural complexion.
What’s your signature beauty look?
Fair skin, bright red lips and minimal eye makeup. I'm all about that Snow White Slay!
If you could only Slapp on one beauty product, what would it be?
Definitely mascara. My favourite is Benefit's They're Real. If your eyes pop you are ready to slay the day.
What’s next for you?
Continue world domination as a female DJ and grow my Instagram following. I am determined to reach 1million followers by the end of this year (that's if the algorithm doesn't defeat me and everyone else!).
