Everything You Need For A Self-Care Day
With everything going on, it definitely feels like every day should be a self care day, but if we’re being honest not every day in isolation has been upbeat and perky! On these days more than any other, we need to try and give ourselves a little TLC. So if you’re feeling like a quick pick-me-up, or want to give yourself a pat on the back for getting through the week, here are some of our favourite products for your next self care day.
- Candles
Not only are candles the perfect get you in the mood lighting, but there are so many incredible scents around. There’s something about lighting a luxurious candle that is so satisfying and indulgent. If you’ve been saving that Diptyque for a special day, now is the time to light it.
And to celebrate Spring Diptyque have hand picked their favourite springtime scents. We love Jasmin, Lily of the Valley and Patchouli, to name a few.
And if you want something even more special, the Paris en Fleur, has just been restocked!
- Masks
Self-care is about me-time, and there’s nothing that will force you to take some time out like wearing a face mask, hand mask or hair mask. And if you’re wearing all 3 at once, we salute you.
If your hands are dry and irritated from all that hand washing, pamper yourself with a hand mask like this STARSKIN one.
If you’re on the hunt for a hair mask that will leave your locks looking luscious try the Like A Virgin Hair Mask from Coco & Eve. Or, if you don’t want to splash out, just head to your kitchen cupboard and root out some coconut oil. Massage it into your hair, wait 20 minutes to an hour and then wash out.
And if it’s an at-home facial you’re looking for then why not consult our fave face masks here!
- Skin Salves
There’s something meditative about moisturising, taking the time to carefully massage your favourite creams, lotions and potions into your skin. And that delicious super-soft, smooth as a rose petal feeling you get as a result is pretty good too. To hydrate those extra dry spots opt for a nourishing skin salve like Glossier’s Balm Dotcom, the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream, or the cult classic Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream.
- Manicure kits
We all feel better with our nails did, so it’s time to take the state of your hands into your own… hands. Trim, file and give those nails a lick of polish. Essie does gorgeous pastel shades that are perfect for spring.
Finish up with some protective cuticle oil like the Jessica Phenomenon Oil Intensive Moisturiser and then slap on a soothing hand cream like Aesop’s Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm; And voila, your at-home manicure is complete.
- Bath time
If you’re a bath person, you will understand the power of a good soak. Get those salts, bath bombs and bubbles out and treat yourself to 20 minutes pretending you’re the little mermaid. If you’re feeling boujee Susanne Kaufmann has the most luxurious bath oil, but you also can’t beat good old Radox.
